Bernandino Gonzalez Lorenzana, 36, of Robin Road in Hillsborough, was arrested on Wednesday, April 6 and charged with three counts of peering, two counts of lewdness, and an additional count of lewdness as a disorderly person’s offense, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said in a release on Tuesday, April 11.
Investigators first received an indecent exposure report from a Meadowbrook Drive resident stating that he saw an unknown man masturbating on his property around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, McDonald said.
After reviewing surveillance footage and receiving a description of the man, detectives identified Lorenzana as the suspect and accused him of involvement in two similar incidents more than four years ago.
The first occurred around 10 p.m. on Sept. 14, 2018, when a naked man was seen on surveillance footage near the back door and in front of a home on Triangle Road, authorities said.
On Nov. 1, 2018, a Meadowbrook Drive resident reported seeing a naked man near the back door of her home peering inside around 7 p.m. The person was seen on surveillance footage wearing a black wig, black shoes with white stripes, and a bandana covering his face, investigators added.
Meanwhile, Lorenzana was accused of sharing child pornography in November 2022 after a search warrant carried out at his Robin Road home in Hillsborough turned up "numerous files depicting the sexual exploitation and/or abuse of children," Daily Voice previously reported.
Lorenzana was being held in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
